Mull of Kintrye Half Marathon and 10km event.
01 June 2008

On the 25th May, 2008, Campbeltown held it’s third MOKRUN (Mull of Kintyre Run) this is a Half Marathon and for the less athletic a 10K run.  Out of the 600 competitors PINS had two entries both proudly sporting our newly arrived T-Shirts.

The weather on the day was very sunny but with a stiff easterly wind which was in no doubt welcomed by the runners and walkers and it was wonderful to see so many local people cheering on their friends and family who were raising sponsorship money for their own particular causes.

This event was a huge step forward for Moira in more ways than one as only a few years ago she was in a wheelchair with pelvic girdle pain and feels that without finding the best treatment for the condition she may have remained on four wheels rather than being able to walk a 10K event.

To date we have raised £480 and our fundraising page on the justgiving site will remain open until the middle of July so it is not too late to make a donation securely on line by visitng www.justgiving.com/moirafinlayson

Many thanks to everyone who kindly sponsored Moira and Tracy in the event.

First fund raising event
25 April 2008

Chair of PINS Moira Finlayson with first prize winner of the raffle

Our first fundraising event was a Virgin Vie Party at St Blaan's Hall on the 25th of April 2008.

This was a most enjoyable evening and we were delighted to welcome Paula McAlister who travelled from Rothesay to give us an excellent demonstration of Virgin Vie Products.

Everyone then enjoyed sampling some of the products before placing an order and the evening has raised £528.

Many thanks to everyone who helped make the evening a success.

Our next fundraiser is the Mull of Kintyre Half Marathon and 10km event on the 25th of  May.  Click here to sponsor Moira for the 10km event.

We aim to raise £2500 to set up a dedicated telephone enquiry line, to develop our webiste and to produce and distribute information leaflets to maternity hospitals and health professionals.
