Joining a support group offers the oppoprtunity to be listened to, to talk about how you feel, hear how others cope with similar problems and learn actively to control pain. The association recognises that it is not only pain sufferers who experience distress but carers, relatives and friends may also need support. Pain Concern - provides information and support for pain sufferers and their carers, free fact sheets and leaflets, on line discusion forum and telphone helpline. Birth Trauma Association: Provides support to all those affected by traumatic births Other support groups for Pelvic Girdle Pain: Pelvic Partnership- A support group based in Oxford and run by volunteers who have personal experience of Pelvic Girdle Pain. They have a telephone helpline and email support via their website. They produce information booklets and hold regular support group meetings in the Oxford area.
